About me

My appreciation for reptiles, birds and exotics started at a young age. As much as my banker parents didn’t love scales on their pets, they were supportive nonetheless. I guess to apease me for them taking me south of the equator (Trinidad) to live in my early teens, they looked the other way when I would spend countless hours watching macaws, visiting local wildlife areas, and convincing them to let me bring some home.

In my early 20s, I carved a niche for myself as a Canadian reptile importer, turning my passion into a profession. However, like every good story, mine took an unexpected turn. In my late 20s, I ventured into the technology sector, founding my own company. It seemed like a departure from my roots, but fate has a funny way of coming full circle. By 2012, I found myself merging my two worlds, working with technology within the pet industry.

The year 2020 marked the birth of Husbandry.Pro, a venture that combines my love for animals with my expertise in technology. These days, I might not code much myself—leaving the wizardry to a team of exceptionally talented developers—but I’m deeply involved in the day-to-day operations, software design, and engineering.

As we look forward to 2024/25, I’m excited about expanding into numerous vertical markets. I breed several snake and lizard species and proudly produce Red Foot Tortoise babies in Canada every year, and use those experiences to forward think our software roadmap.

On the home front, I’m blessed with a beautiful wife, four amazing adult children, and five grandkids who keep life vibrant and full of surprises. And then there’s Stanley, our big Newfie-Poo, who adds his own brand of joy to our family.

Despite my busy life, I find time to watch the Maple Leafs break my heart year after year—a testament to my enduring optimism. Above all, I cherish hanging out with friends and family, because, at the end of the day, it’s the laughter and love we share that truly matters.

So here I am—a lover of wildlife, a tech entrepreneur, a family man, and a hopeful Maple Leafs fan. It’s been a wild ride, and the best part? It’s only getting started.
